    Description

Kevin Pourier Buffalo Bolo Tie. This is a very special bolo tie by Kevin Pourier (Oglala Lakota), showing a striking image of the head of a buffalo. Kevin works in buffalo horn, and this is an especially fitting horn-carved image of a buffalo! Kevin carves a piece of buffalo horn, then inlays it with crushed stone -- in this case pipestone. Notice that the tips are buffalo horn as well! The face of the bolo is about 2" square, the tips about 2-1/4" long. The strap is a thick, hand-braided one, very nice. Purchased directly from Kevin in 2002, single owner. Worn, treasured, and well cared for. You may know that Kevin won Best of Show at the Santa Fe Indian Market in 2018 for a belt created of buffalo horn using the same technique.
